...ice, ice, baby!

I have an addiction.
A real addiction.
For some, Diet Coke is what gets them through the day.
I also require a daily fix, but it is not soda. It's not television. It's not even shopping.

I eat ice.

Or as some like to say, I "chomp" ice.
I don't know what I'm going to do....England doesn't have crushed ice...like at all. What am I going to crunch on late at night?!

...I've got some bad habits.

I've determined what makes bad habits so bad. They are habits that we know we should change, but rather than making the necessary changes to omit these habits from our life...they remain in full force, thus, becoming more and more apart of us.

Confession:

I am ALWAYS late. It's something I've always dealt with. (I call myself a "late bloomer" but that is another post for another day.)

I'm never on time to work. I rejoice when I clock in only five minutes after the hour! Even if I get up in the morning with plenty of time, pack my bags and pick my outfit out the night before, I still manage to show up to class 5-10 minutes late.

Over the years I've found some ways around this bad habit. For example, instead of telling my friends I'll be over in what would clearly only take an average person 10 minutes, I automatically triple it and tell them I'll see them in 30. To give myself some breathing room yes, but mostly just to avoid showing up late.

This is a bad habit. It's bad because, well, I don't really care to work any harder to change. Those people who say, "If you're not ten minutes early, you're already late" do not like being friends with me and quite frankly, I've stopped caring about trying to prove anything to them.

Another bad habit I know how to change but still don't is my eating.

I know cookie dough is not dessert, but I still eat it all the time. Speaking of desserts, I pretty much only eat dessert. I love dessert. Red velvet cake, pie, cream puffs, fried ice cream...yuuuummmmm. If only I didn't have taste buds. I love food. I love going out to eat. I like how food tastes and smells -- but I love even more how it looks. I shouldn't spend as much money on food as I do, but I love going out to places that make the food look like art. These are usually the most expensive resturants and like bad habit #1, I don't care to change it.

I still struggle putting on my seatbelt when I drive. I automatically put it on when I'm a passenger but for some reason, I never think to put it on when I'm a driver.

I leave the water running when I brush my teeth. I start new books before finishing the one I'm currently reading. I let leftovers get moldy in the fridge (that's because I HATE leftovers--is this linked to my bad eating habits??) Okay, so I could go on, but I guess I don't really need to disclose all my bad habits.

What have you done to change your bad habits? Any suggestions for a stubborn girl like me?
