...there's no room for politics.

Call me what you will, but I do not like talking about politics. With anyone. Even my family. I just don't. I always feel icky afterward no matter who talks to me about them. Many people get upset with me for feeling this way. Like I don't care and that I don't deserve to live in America with the freedoms we do. But quite frankly, I've never had a good experience talking about political issues with anyone. I avoid it at all cost and if it does come up, I just nod my head and say things like, "How very interesting that you feel that way." Or "Thanks for sharing your perspectives with me." It's just not my thing.

I do not like any of the political commentary shows on TV. None of them. They grate on my nerves and I want to punch them all in the face. It's my prerogative to feel this way...the same reason some people watch "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and want to punch Chloe and Courtney in the face. It's their prerogative.

I don' have any desire to affiliate with any political party. I want to be free from any of them and the expectations that follow suit. I'm not trying to be a hippie. I'm not trying to go against anything or prove some sort of point. I just don't like it. At all. Maybe I'm just not mature enough? Maybe when I have more life experience and a greater knowledge and understanding about politics that I will feel differently? Until then I'll be in my own little corner reading "The Screwtape Letters" or watching episodes of "Felicity" because I do not have ANY desire whatsoever to get myself involved in anything to do with politics.
